Dermal Filler Courses For Non-Medics
Courses that teach non medics the art of botox and dermal fillers are a great way for beauty therapists to boost their income and add to the services they offer. The beauty industry is incredibly competitive and the addition of dermal filler and botox procedures can make the difference between winning and losing a client. While the requirements for enrolling in a botox and dermal filler course for non medics vary per training facility, many accept beauty therapists with NVQ Level 3 certification, nurse practitioners, chiropractors, pharmacists and paramedics.
During the hands-on portion of the course, you will get extensive practice using different injection techniques to treat various areas of the face. You will learn how to deal with common facial rhytids such as forehead lines, crow’s feet, glabellar lines and bunny lines. Additionally, you will be able to tackle more advanced areas such as the temples and tear troughs (under eye hollows). Injection techniques will also be taught for other popular areas such as lip augmentation, nasolabial folds and marionette lines. The trainers at the training facility will help you decide which injectables are right for each area of your face.
The class is limited to 8 attendees so the instructor will be able to answer each attendee’s questions and share his years of expertise with botulinum toxin and dermal filler products and treatments. He will also teach you his own methods and tricks that he has developed over the years to achieve better results. The training will cover the theory and practice of cosmetic injectables including how to select the right type of botox and dermal filler course for each patient, how to prepare a patient for treatment, and the proper technique of administering the injection.

After the didactic session, you will have an opportunity to practice your skills on live models that have been donated for this purpose. You will learn to perform client consultations, draw the treatment plan and conduct the actual injections all under the supervision of your instructor. The model will be interviewed, consent forms signed and a skin analysis conducted before the injections are performed. This allows the instructors to determine the correct type and amount of product needed for each individual model.
You will also learn how to use a cannula for more precise injections and to treat smaller areas. You will also have the chance to try Radiesse, an injectable made from a natural substance called calcium hydroxyapatite. This filler has the advantage of being long-lasting and durable.
At the end of the day, you will be able to take your newfound knowledge and apply it to your own clients. This will allow you to increase the number of appointments you book and your income. The cost of a botox and dermal filler courses for non medics can vary depending on the length of the course, the number of models used and whether or not lunch is included. You will also need to consider your travel costs and accommodation if required.
